Short term peripheral exendin-4 decreases food consumption and body weight. Fructose-fed hamsters received vehicle or exendin-4 (20 μg/kg) for 7 (A–C; Intervention study) or 10 days (D–F; Preventative study). Fasting plasma was collected following poloxamer (0.5 g/kg). Average daily food consumption (B,E) and body weight (C,F) during intervention (B,C) and preventative (D,F) studies.
