After 10 training sessions, (a.) CSA of type IIx/b fibers was greater in the ITTO group than in the SHAM group (# p<0.05). Regardless of group assignment, type IIx/b fibers were larger than type I or IIa fibers (* p<0.001). (b.) ITTO animals contained a larger proportion of type I fibers (# p<0.05). Type IIx/b fibers were more prevalent than type I or type IIa (* p<0.001). (c.) Type I MHC AA was greater in the ITTO group (# p<0.05).
