Cholesterol-enriched diet increased IgG leakage into seminiferous tubules, A: in testes from control rabbits, ZO-1 staining (green) of tight-junction proteins was restricted to the basal regions of the Sertoli cells, and there was no positive IgG staining inside the seminiferous tubules. However, staining patterns of ZO-1 and IgG changed dramatically in testes from rabbits fed a cholesterol-enriched diet for 2, 4, and 6 wk; more ZO-1 was present in the adluminal region of seminiferous tubules and increasingly larger amounts of IgG staining were present within seminiferous tubules.
