Administration of 3F-NeuAc to mice results in long lasting altered sialoside expression in glomeruli. Histochemical staining of paraffin-embedded kidney sections with biotinylated lectins SNA and PNA (A) and MAA (B) shows distinct changes in the glomeruli after mice received a single 300 mg·kg⁻¹ intravenous dose of 3F-NeuAc. Tissues stained with MAA were harvested 11 days after treatment. All tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin. The data are representative of two mice and a minimum of 30 glomeruli from each.
