A few exceptional images other than that shown in Figure 3 a were observed for CD4+ T cells from lyophilized Cyto-Trol: (a) the entangled microvilli were replaced with truncated and sparsely populated microvilli in two instances; (b) densely populated microvilli showed early signs of entanglement.
