Effects of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) recovery treatment on cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP; n = 6–8 per group; A), nitrate/nitrite (NOx; n = 5–8 per group; B), superoxide (n = 6–8 per group; C), and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS)–related superoxide levels (n = 6–8; D) in lung homogenates in hypoxia recovery study. BH4 treatment did increase the levels of cGMP compared with the placebo-treated group but not to a statistically significant value.
