a

. Possible range was 0 to 4 for all domain scales, with higher scores indicating greater impact. Domain scale scores were obtained by averaging the scores of all individual contributing items.

b

. Test-retest intraclass coefficients were obtained from repeat administration of measures after 1 to 2 weeks in a subset of 175 women drawn from all racial/ethnic groups represented in the parent cohort.

c

. The short, 5-item version of the sexual functioning domain scale was completed by all postmenopausal women who reported any vaginal symptoms, regardless of sexual activity status.

d

. The longer, 9-item version of the sexual functioning domain scale was completed only by symptomatic postmenopausal women who reported sexual activity in the past four weeks.
