The sample consisted of 11,796 respondents; the population was 34,480,308.All models were adjusted for sex, age, race or ethnicity, family income, educational attainment, employment, health status, psychological distress, presence of an activity limitation, having a close relative who has needed long-term services and supports for at least a year at the time of the survey, and personal expectations of use of long-term services and supports. “Spouse” means spouse or partner. “Children” means child or children.
