While age and boldness are continuous measures in all analyses, for illustrative purposes only, they are grouped here. Age was grouped into 5-year bins from 5 to 45 years and the mean reproductive success (±s.e.) plotted against the mid- point of the bin. Females are plotted in shades of red and males in shades of blue.
