Microglial cell activation in the brains of 10-week-old TgCRND8 mice, and a non-transgenic littermate control (Tg), TgCRND8 mice heterozygous for P2Y2R (Tg+P2Y2R+/−) and non-transgenic littermate control mice heterozygous for P2Y2R (TgP2Y2R+/−) were investigated by subjecting hippocampal brain sections to immunofluorescence analysis using anti-CD45 antibody (red) and Hoescht nuclear stain (blue). Results indicate a decrease in microglial cell accumulation in TgCRND8 mouse brain with deletion of the P2Y2R.
