Upper panel: ERG a- and b-wave amplitude in hamster eyes injected with vehicle or LPS from animals untreated or treated with melatonin at day 8 after intravitreal injections. LPS induced a significant decrease in the scotopic ERG a- and b-wave amplitude, whereas both treatments with melatonin (starting at 12 or 24 h post-intravitreal injections) blocked the effect of LPS.
