The compounds marked with A were not available as pure standards and therefore the amounts for these compounds have been estimated on the basis of the nearest compound on the RT-scale of the GC-spectrum, provided this compound was of the same chemical class and a pure standard was available. The values indicate the means and ses of each treatment group. The P-values have been calculated per compound with one-way ANOVA (df = 1) on the total amount produced per plant in 5 d (n = 9). The compounds that are marked with an asterisk (*) tested significantly different (F ≥ 7.2/P ≤ 0.05) for infested plants versus control plants.
