Curli induces IL-1β and IL-6 secretion in a TLR2-dependent manner. C57BL/6 and TLR2-deficient macrophages were stimulated with Pam3CSK4 (100 ng/ml) and purified curli fibers (2.5 and 10 μg/ml). Twenty-four hours after stimulation, the supernatants were collected and assayed for IL-1β (A) and IL-6 (B) production by ELISA.
