Interictal epileptiform activity in two collagenase rats. In our study, these rats (a, b) suffered extended periods of aberrant interictal activity. Note the characteristic downward spiking. For rat A, spikes occurred about 20 times per minute, and in rat B, they occurred 10 times per minute. The interictal events elicited over 1 h were averaged, as depicted at the bottom of the figure.
