Tap42p is important to mediate LD replenishment by rapamycin. The sit4Δ strain (A) and the temperature-sensitive tap42-11 mutant strains (B) were treated with rapamycin (100 ng/ml) (•) or vehicle alone (○), as described in the legend to Fig. 1, for 2 h. The temperature-sensitive tap42-11 strain was grown at 25°C, where it is partially resistant to rapamycin. The LD indexes were measured and normalized to that obtained in WT (BY4741 and TB50-a, respectively) pregrown stationary cells using the LFR assay (upper), and culture growth was determined (lower).
