Note that sections from the same tumors are shown in e and g for αv+/p53 and αv/p53+ tumors to illustrate the inverse correlation frequently observed between Gr-1 and F4/80 staining. Quantification of the staining in αv+/p53 SCCs (1, blue columns), αv/p53+ (2, red columns) and αv/p53 SCCs (3, green columns) is represented as the average number of cells per field in 5 tumors per genotype. *p< 0.05 for comparisons with each of the other two groups.
