Tonic neurons in KFN did not exhibit hypoxia-induced STP that was characteristic of the pontomedullary post-I pathway. Indeed, none of the tonic neurons recorded from KFN (n = 46) were responsive to hypoxic stimulus, as seen here in three representative neurons.
