Models adjusted for age, sex, race/ethnicity, body mass index, poverty, education, activity level, smoking status, fasting length, diuretic and calcium carbonate use, diagnosis of diabetes mellitus, hypertension and cardiovascular disease, estimated glomerular filtration rate, albuminuria, serum albumin, calcium, phosphate, C-reactive protein and estimated net endogenous acid production.
