The apoe^−/− mice were injected once, or rag1^−/− × apoe^−/− were injected every 21 days with ad-SAA, ad-Null, or saline and maintained on normal rodent chow for 16 weeks for apoe^−/− or 12 weeks for rag1^−/− × apoe^−/−.
