Trajectory of care for Medicare patients with symptomatic cholelithiasis initially managed nonoperatively (N=92,436). 10,247 (11.1%) subsequently required emergent care, 12,176 (13.1%) had recurrent symptoms but did not require hospitalization or surgery, and 70,013 did not require any further intervention.
