The horizontal line (0°) coincides with the tangential plane of the OT cortex while the vertical line (90º) coincides with the radial (pial-ventricular) axis. The polar coordinates system is divided into 8 (45º amplitude) intervals. For each interval, a bar indicates the absolute number of collateral branches whose direction of growth is included within the interval. In order to simplify the information, inbox represents the number of collateral branches corresponding to 4 (90° amplitude) intervals.
