A. Amongst patients with TB, MMP-8 was analyzed by gender. Plasma MMP-8 concentrations were higher in males than females. B. There was no significant difference in sputum mycobacterial load between genders as analyzed by sputum smear quantitation. C. There was no difference in duration of weight loss between men and women with TB. D. Men with TB had a greater duration of cough than women at time of diagnosis of TB. Statistical analysis was performed using Mann-Whitney U Test, *p<0.05, NS Not significant.
