TABLE 1.

RT-PCR primers used to detect transcripts for gel-forming mucins in human submandibular glands

The positions of primers are based on reference sequences (GenBankTM accession numbers). PCRs incorporated 1 unit of AccuprimeTM Taq high fidelity DNA polymerase, 0.25 μm primers, and 20 ng of cDNA. Cycling conditions were as follows: 5 min at 94 °C; 35 cycles of 1 min at 94 °C, 1 min at 55 °C, and 2 min at 68 °C followed by 7 min at 68 °C.
