2-Methoxystypandrone (2-MS) inhibited growth of human cancer cells. (a) Real-time cell analysis (RTCA) system analysis of 2-MS's effects on HeLa cells. (b) IC₅₀ of 2-MS on viability of different human tumor cell lines for 72 h. (c) HeLa cells were pretreated with indicated concentrations of 2-MS for 24 h. Cells were then stained with Annexin V-Alexa Fluor 488 Apoptosis Detection Kit before analysis of apoptosis through flow cytometry. (d) Lysates from four human prostate and lung cancer cell lines DU-145, PC-3, A549 and H460 were processed for western blot analysis using specific antibodies as indicated. (e) DU-145, PC-3, A549 and H460 cells were treated with 2-MS at various concentrations for 72 h and then processed for MTT assay.
