Gene expression was analyzed in triplicate samples by using RT2 Profiler PCR Array—Human Oxidative Stress. For NCF2, GSTZ1 and CCL5, three additional independent experiments in triplicates were performed by RT-PCR. Gene expression values in p84-cells are expressed as fold-change (mean ± S.E.) over EV-cells after 24 h of transfection.

*SOD2 has been included both in genes involved in Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) production/metabolism and in oxidative stress-responsive genes, encoding antioxidants.
