Yellow variants display altered virulence following oral infection. BALB/c mice (n = 10 per group) were infected with ~10⁴ CFU of B. pseudomallei orally: WHT (white circles), YA (yellow squares), and YB (orange triangles). Mice were monitored for survival and euthanized upon reaching predetermined endpoints.
