Detection of active SFKs in the unfertilized egg.
Unfertilized eggs were fixed as described in Materials and Methods, treated with pronase and the chorion removed, then cut in half with a scalpel. The samples were then blocked, permeabilized and incubated with the clone 28 antibody (A) or control mouse IgG (B) at 2.5μg/ml followed by Alexa Fluor 488-anti-mouse IgG. Samples were imaged by confocal fluorescence (above) or by transmitted light (below). The cut surfaces of the eggs are indicated by the small arrows.
