(a) CHST11 gene expression was evaluated in a panel of breast cancer cell lines (13 luminal, 16 Her-2-amplified and 21 basal-like cell lines) (29). The log-transformed normalized expression values were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s post hoc comparisons. *,**Statistically significant compared to the luminal subgroup at P<0.05 and P<0.01, respectively. (b) CHST11 expression is associated with tumor progression (30). Tumor specimens (7 DCIS and 7 IDC) were isolated by LCM from each individual specimen and matched. Specimens then were compared for the expression of CHST11. The P-value shows two-sided comparison using Mann-Whitney U test.
