RELN+ neurons in layer I of human cortex had a variety of morphologies, orientations and staining intensity. Some neurons had a pear-shaped body and a single, thick, descending dendrite and bulged on the cortical surface (C). Other neurons displayed one tangentially oriented dendrite (B).
