Peripheral leukocyte cell count. Non-surgical animals (n = 3) received a single dose of fingolimod (0.5 mg/kg) and peripheral blood obtained at baseline, 24 hours and 48 hours post-treatment (A). Peripheral venous blood was also obtained from sham-vehicle, sham-FTY720, SAH- vehicle and SAH-FTY720 animals at baseline (B) and 2 days after surgery (C) (n = 5 to 6 per group). Leukocyte cell counts were determined as indicated in Methods. Statistical significance was determined by Student t-test.
