Use of mCherryOpt to monitor induction of the pdaV promoter by lysozyme. Wild-type (A) or csfV mutant (B) strains of C. difficile containing pRAN738 (PpdaV::mCherryOpt) were grown to an OD600 of 0.3, exposed to lysozyme for 1 h, fixed, and removed from the anaerobic chamber.
