GDE4 and GDE7 cannot hydrolyze either glycerophosphoinositol or glycerophosphocholine. HEK293T cells were transiently transfected with constructs for the mammalian GDEs. control, empty vector-transfected sample. Total protein extracts from transfected HEK293 cells were subjected to enzymatic assays for GroPCho and GroPIns PDE activity as described under “Experimental Procedures.” The data are from a single experiment carried out in triplicate (mean ± S.D.
