A 52-year-old patient with malignant pheochromocytoma had metastases of retrocrural nodules (white arrow), lung, liver, and bone: a, b before and c, d after first ¹³¹I-MIBG therapy (7.4 GBq). The retrocrural nodules (white arrow) were progressed after first ¹³¹I-MIBG therapy. The scintigraphic response was not observed after the first ¹³¹I-MIBG therapy (black arrow). He died 8 months after first ¹³¹I-MIBG therapy with progression of disease unfortunately. The scintigraphy was obtained at 24 h after injection of ¹²³I-MIBG [b (111 MBq) and d (111 MBq)]
