Model clinic flow. A model clinic was created to examine the effects of shifting various tasks from clinicians to community health workers. The figure depicts the progression of patients through a clinic visit and highlights some of the various services they may require. Percentages indicate the estimated proportion of patients requiring that service, based on interviews with clinicians and the authors’ clinical experience working in Kenyan health facilities. Table 2 displays all assumptions that were used to create the model clinic.
