Spared nerve injury (SNI, arrow) resulted in pain-like hypersensitivity. Intraperitoneal (i.p.) pioglitazone dose-dependently reversed (A) mechanical and (B) cold hypersensitivity 14d after SNI. Pain-related behavioral responses to plantar application of von Frey and acetone stimuli were measured before (0d) and after (14d) SNI and at 15, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, and 240 min after intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of pioglitazone (0, 10, 30, 100 mg/kg) in saline vehicle.
