V. cholerae strain C7258HNS-FLAG containing pBAD-HlyU-His was grown to OD600 0.5 and the cultures divided in halves. One half was used as a control and the other half treated with 0.02% L-arabinose to induce HlyU expression. Cultures were incubated as described in materials and methods and the amount of promoter DNA IP with H-NS was quantitated by qPCR. Positive control, tcpA; negative controls, VC1922.
