5-LO-deficient mice display increased expression of iNOS mRNA over the course of B. abortus infection. At 1, 3, and 6 weeks after infection of 129 Sv/Ev or 5-LO KO mice with B. abortus (1 × 106 CFU/mouse), iNOS mRNA in mouse splenocytes was measured by RT-PCR. The values were normalized using endogenous β-actin as a control and the value of ΔCT from uninfected mouse samples.
