Mn-SOD inhibited arsenite-induced apoptosis in Cl41 cells. A, GFP-Mn-SOD was transfected into Cl41 cells, and the stable transfectants were identified by a Western blotting assay. B, the indicated cells were treated with 20 μm arsenite for 6 h. The cells were washed thoroughly with PBS and then incubated with PBS containing 10 μm hydroethidine for 10 min. The cells were collected and subjected to fluorescent quantification by cytometry. C–E, the indicated cells were treated with arsenite for 24 h. The morphological images were captured under an inverted microscope (C). Cell death was quantified by flow cytometry after propidium iodide staining (D).
