Retb is specific to the neural retina. A, Retb quantitative RT-PCR results on cDNA prepared from total RNA isolated from P30 mouse brain, kidney, testis, heart, bladder, liver, lung, PECS (RPE, choroid, and sclera), and neural retina. Sequences of the primers are listed in Table 1. Results are plotted relative to Hprt and show retina-specific expression of the Retb gene. B, Northern blot of total retinal RNA isolated from P30 wild-type mice and probed with radiolabeled Retb full-length cDNA. 28 S and 18 S ribosomal RNAs are marked for size reference and loading control. Shown is a single Retb transcript of ∼1.2 kb in size.
