Lane 1 shows the ΙαΙ band in human serum at 250 kDa. Lanes 2, 4, 6, and 8 show HC transfer from ΙαΙ in human serum to HA polysaccharides 14, 37, 60, and 86 monosaccharides in length, respectively, after a 4-h incubation at 37 °C. In lanes 3, 5, 7, and 9, HCs were first transferred to HA polysaccharides 14, 37, 60, and 86 monosaccharides in length, respectively, for 4 h, and then HA1000K was added to the samples, which were then incubated for another 24 h.
