Summary of questions for future clinical-translational ILC2 research

1) What is the role of ILC2s in the presence of ongoing adaptive-immune responses that occur in chronic diseases, including asthma and atopic dermatitis?
2) To what extent do ILC2s contribute to human allergic diseases relative to other cell types known to be involved including T cells, mast cells, and eosinophils?
3) Are there novel and more selective ILC2 markers that may be used both in research and clinically for ILC2 detection?
4) Could in-depth screening and molecular analysis of tissue ILC2s in human disease lead to novel as well as specific targets that will also improve our understanding of ILC2 function?
5) What are the unintended consequences of ILC2 targeting that may disrupt metabolic homeostasis or tissue repair?
6) How will targeting ILC2s affect other immune and structural cell functions?
