The levels of proteins (relative absorbance unit x 10x4) or the ratio of phosphorylated to non phosphorylated protein are shown; values are mean ± SEM, n=7 per treatment group. The images shown in Figure 4 are those directly acquired from the ChemiDoc work station that is equipped with a CCD camera having a resolution of 1300 x 1030. The normalized intensity data from the ChemiDoc were evaluated; statistical analyses were done on the ranks of the absorbance data via multivariate analysis of variance as described in the Materials and Methods section. pAMPK: phosphorylated AMP-activated protein kinase; pACC: phosphorylated acetyl-CoA-carboxylase.
