No effect of asialoEPO on the progressive reduction in activity in R6/2 mice. The activity of the mice was assessed at 10 and 12 weeks of age in an open field. The open field was divided into 25 equal squares of 5 × 5 cm each. The number of entered squares during 2 min was assessed as a measure of general activity. The data was analyzed using a two-factor repeated measures ANOVA. There was a significant difference between the three groups (F = 1.37, p = 0.0004) and a time versus group interaction (F = 4.30, p < 0.05). However, there was no difference between the vehicle- and asialoEPO-treated R6/2 mice at neither timepoints (Student's t-test, n. s.)
