Schematic diagram of our biped learning scheme. The CPG generates periodic patterns for biped locomotion. Detected sensory signals are sent to the CPG and the learning system, which only updates the policy and outputs the modulation command to the CPG when the periodic trajectory passes through the defined Poincare sections.
