(A) Pretreatment with the p38 inhibitor SB239063 (30 mg/kg) reduced ethanol intake during the first hour of ethanol drinking. (B) The effect was no longer present by the end of the four-hour drinking session. (C) Mice achieved a binge-level of alcohol consumption during the 4-hour testing period. (D) SB239063 pretreatment reduced total distance traveled in a one-hour locomotor activity test.
