Oxygen-limited fermentation on glucose in shake flasks. The cells were cultured at 30°C in shake flasks with initial OD₆₀₀ of 0.1 (∼ 0.02 g l⁻¹ dry cell biomass). Oxygen-limited conditions were obtained with a rubber stopper and a syringe needle, and the cells were agitated at 200 r.p.m. The experiments were performed in triplicate.
