Given the contouring threshold for map 1 (σ₁), first one needs to find the corresponding value of the CDF. Next, one looks up the contouring threshold of map 2 (σ₂) that corresponds to the same value of the CDF as for map 1. The contouring thresholds σ₁ and σ₂ encompass equivalent fractions of both maps.
