Mammosphere-forming efficiency (MFE) in MDA-MB-435 following equol treatment and c-Myc silencing. Quiescent MDA-MB-435 cells expressing control or c-Myc siRNA were treated with vehicle or equol for 24 h. Cells, seeded in duplicates in ultra-low attachments plates with 500–5000 cells/well, were treated with vehicle or equol, and incubated for 3 days to determine MFE. MFE was calculated by dividing the number of mammospheres formed by the number of cells seeded per well. The data are presented relative to vehicle-treated control siRNA-expressing cells. Mean ± S.E.
