The diagram shows the time schedule of the ES cell differentiation procedures for EB protocols for 5 days. ES cells were aggregated in hanging drop culture for 2 days before transfer in suspension culture. The cell culturing was performed (A) in the presence of BMP4 from the initiation of culture and named as ++BMP4 condition, (B) in the presence of BMP4 after 2 days of culture and named as +BMP4 condition or (C) in the absence of BMP4 and named as –BMP4 condition.
