Polyhedral fragments always break into two pieces along a crack plane which crosses the center of mass of the object with a random orientation. The figure presents the algorithm for three steps of the fragmentation process. Different types of equilibria are highlighted by different colors: red indicates stable points in the middle of the faces of the convex polyhedron, while green stands for the unstable points of the vertices. The blue dots in the middle of the edges are so called saddle points not discussed in the present work.
